Many children face challenges both inside and outside the classroom. Through a school-based coordinator, Communities In Schools strategically aligns and delivers needed resources so that students can focus on learning.

Communities In Schools has partnered with Littlefield ISD since October 2008.

Ms. Lucero began working with Communities in Schools in October 2008. She has worked with youth in Prevention for almost 15 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Eastern New Mexico University. Ms. Lucero is currently certified as a prevention specialist. She has lived in Littlefield for 11 years and has three children and one grandchild. She enjoys working for Communities of Schools because of the system of care approach it takes. She believes it has the attitude of doing whatever it takes to help a child succeed.
