Hope- Everyday

To thrive, children need access to the basics—adult guidance, help with homework, proper nutrition and preventative health care. Unfortunately many kids lack these essentials. These are the kids who are most likely to fall behind and once behind, often drop out.

At Communities In Schools, we focus on meeting these core needs—needs that can often be overlooked by traditional support programs. We work closely with local school districts, social service organizations and businesses to connect schools with the resources that facilitate academic success and the development of important life skills.

We do this at critical junctures in a child’s development, and in situations that cannot be ignored. We know that many issues can be resolved before they turn into problems. CIS intervention can be as simple as providing eyeglasses to a child who needs them, or as intensive as after-school, one-on-one tutoring. In the end our goal is to provide the support systems that other kids have— essentials that allow them to focus on learning and achieving their potential.
